Hu Ge recently made an interesting confession in an interview, revealing that he brings nitroglycerin tablets wherever he goes.
The actor shared this particular trivia about himself on the show, “Yu Jian,” saying that he clearly felt his body starting to decline after turning 40.
“In the past, if I stayed up all night filming, I could sleep it off and my energy would be restored the next day. But now it’s really not possible, especially when filming ‘Blossoms Shanghai,’ which took about three years and involved many all-nighters. So throughout the entire filming process, I felt like my energy was constantly being depleted, which had a significant impact on my health,” he said.
This was further exacerbated after working on the Qinghai plateau for a drama for seven months last year.

The 44-year-old star also revealed that two of his friends passed away one after the other two months ago due to heart attacks, and that it really affected him, especially since one of them was his age.
Revealing that he carries the medication around with him, Hu Ge said, “I really do carry them. Not only me, but many people around me, my colleagues, also keep some on hand, for emergency use.”
Even more unexpectedly, Hu Ge also revealed that he now carries a portable automated external defibrillator (AED), used to rescue people suffering from sudden cardiac arrest, when he travels for work.
“I didn’t want to carry it at first, but then I thought, I might as well carry it. What if I encounter someone else in an emergency? I can use it then,” he added.
