Son Ye-jin recently stated that she has no qualms letting her son become an actor if that’s what he wants in the future.
In a recent interview to promote her new Netflix show, “The Scandal,” the actress, who is married to actor Hyun Bin, stated that she would let him do it if her son has the talent, adding, “Even if he doesn’t have the talent, and he might still want to do it, I will let him do it. If I look at it and it doesn’t seem like it will work out but he really wants to do it, I can’t stop him.”
“As a mother, if I tell him, ‘Don’t do it,’ he might actually turn out to be really good at it, and there’s no way for me to know. So, he should try it first, and if he realises it’s not the path for him, he can always come back,” she said.
Asked if she has seen his talent, the actress joked, “As far as I can tell, he seems to have quite a lot of expressive ability, but when he had a Christmas concert, he just froze up by himself. His stage fright was really severe. That’s how I can tell.”
However, despite her not saying no to her son becoming an actor in the future, the actress said that she is not comfortable having her son’s face shown publicly at his current age.
“People actually take photos of us secretly quite often. So, we go over and ask them to delete them. As for us, we can’t really help it when we appear in public, but our child is still young, so I feel it’s a little different if his photos are circulated,” she said.
