With September being Leslie Cheung’s birthday month, it was revealed that his unreleased song “Love Child” has now been given a new life.
The song, originally produced by legendary producer Alvin Leung, is the Mandarin version of Leslie’s classic song, “Four Seasons”. The song wasn’t initially released because Alvin felt that the original arrangement didn’t meet his standards.
To celebrate what would have been Leslie’s 70th birthday, the music producer decided to personally oversee a remake, using the highest standards of music production to bring the late superstar’s gentle and sincere voice back to life, fulfilling the dreams of music fans worldwide.
This previously unreleased posthumous Mandarin work was meticulously produced, with the production team travelling to Europe and Australia for a comprehensive international remake.
The new version not only features live accompaniment with the renowned Prague Orchestra from the Czech Republic, but also boasts arrangements by a master Italian musician and post-production mixing in Australia. The grand orchestral scale perfectly complements Leslie Cheung’s emotionally nuanced vocals, creating a powerful effect as if he were performing live on stage.
Furthermore, this new release includes a special piano version of “Rhythm of Life,” performed by Hong Kong piano virtuoso Law Sheung-ching.
