TWICE member Chou Tzuyu recently asked fans to not worry about her and to wait patiently for news of her career plans, following reports that she has been getting offers to expand her career in China.
The Taiwanese singer recently addressed her fans on paid fan platform Bubble, saying “I know there have been various rumours circulating online recently, but I hope everyone can wait for me to truly meet ONCE (TWICE’s fan name) again with new work.”
“Please don’t worry, just keep cheering me on, that’s the greatest strength, and it motivates me to keep moving forward,” she added.
It was recently reported that Tzuyu, whose contract with JYP Entertainment will expire at the end of the year, has been contacted by agents in mainland China to pursue a solo career there.
The rumours sparked concern among fans, who believed that China has used threats and incentives to pressure Taiwanese entertainers to support the government.
On the other hand, it was reported that Tzuyu’s mother is still actively negotiating a contract renewal with Korean label JYP Entertainment.
