After losing best friend Nansun Shi, Brigitte Lin had to face another heartbreak following the news about the death of Hong Kong veteran actress and singer Grace Chang aka Ko Lan.

On 4 August, following the news of Ko Lan’s passing, the actress shared several images of them together on Weibo to mourn her, and recalled the last time she spent with the veteran.

“Sister Ko Lan loved singing Peking Opera, but she hadn’t performed for a while. I visited her at her home, and she was sitting in her wheelchair, half-asleep. I wanted to cheer her up, so I sang ‘San Jia Dian’ and ‘Su San Qi Jie’ in front of her. She listened with her eyes half-closed, without much reaction,” she wrote.

“Two Filipino workers asked me to sing ‘Unspeakable Joy,’ an interlude from her most famous film, ‘The Wild, Wild Rose’. The two workers and I sang and danced the cha-cha and mambo in front of her. Her eyes immediately opened, sparkling, and she smiled contentedly. This is my last memory of her.”

Finally, Brigitte said, “Sister Ko Lan! You are the eternal bright moon in my heart!”

The photos that she shared with the post showed the last time they met, with Brigitte singing and performing while Ko Lan sat on the sofa and enjoying the performance.

Ko Lan passed away on 3 August at the age of 93.
