Amidst a contract dispute with their former agency, South Korean boy band The Boyz recently announced that they will continue their activities as a 9-member group, excluding New.
The news was announced by their representatives on 6 August, stating that Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric have agreed to continue group activities together.
“The Boyz members have given deep thought to putting their fans first. They will proceed with individual activities after first settling a stable direction for team activities,” the reps stated.
They added, “Individual activities will be handled through separate contracts with companies where they can maximise their capabilities, while group activities will be carried out in parallel without interruption through cooperation.”
However, New, who remains with the original agency, will not join the group for these activities.
The members stated, “Our resolve that all nine of us must stay together has remained unchanged from the beginning. We wanted to convey this sentiment to the fans who have been waiting for The Boyz’s group activities.”

At the same time, they emphasised, “We will do our best in our respective positions, and at the same time, we will do our utmost to continue the precious time we have built with our fans as THE BOYZ.”
Meanwhile, The Boyz’s team activity schedule will be revealed at a later date.
It was early this year that the members, minus New, notified their original agency ONE HUNDRED of their intention to terminate their contracts due to breach of trust.
They also filed for an injunction with the court, citing reasons such as non-payment of settlement funds, failure to provide settlement data, and violations of management and artist protection obligations.
