Ang Lee’s camp has recently denied previous reports regarding the casting for his new movie, “Old Gold Mountain”.
Earlier, World of Reel reported that Zhang Ziyi and Fala Chen have been cast to star in the upcoming film, which will be Ang’s first since 2019’s “Gemini Man”.
The movie, which has been in development since last year, is based on the C. Pam Zhang’s debut novel, “How Much of These Hills Is Gold,” follows Lucy and Sam, newly orphaned children of immigrants who flee the threats of their western mining town, to bury their father in the only way that will set them free from their past.
In response to the widespread rumours surrounding casting and filming, Ang Lee’s assistant, Li Liangshan, told Taiwanese media outlet TVBS News, “Thank you for your verification. The information in that report is incorrect. We will release an updated version later.”
“Thank you again, and we will contact you again when we have any new information.”
