After 10 years of marriage filled with bickering and social media spats, JJ Jia is finally accepting the fact that she and husband Louis Fan are meant to be together.
The actress recently posted a photo of the two of them together on Weibo, posting, “We’ve tolerated each other all these years, and as we tolerated it, we suddenly realised we’re becoming more and more alike!”
In another post on REDNOTE, she expressed, “A good relationship between husband and wife is all about ‘tolerance’. But this ‘tolerance’ isn’t the anger you might imagine; it’s about accepting each other’s lifestyles or personalities in the mundane details of life.”
“Everyone has their own habits and ways of doing things, things we’ve been used to since childhood. Suddenly, you realise that the person next to you is different, and your first instinct is to try to change them. Then you realise that no matter what you say, you can’t change them, and you might end up arguing. Then you realise that you’re not always right either, so you try to accept their way of doing things… Maybe that’s what ‘tolerance’ is. But this process has helped me grow. I’ve become less stubborn and more learning and accepting. Then you’ll find that life becomes simpler and happier!”
She added that getting along is an art and that life is a continuous learning process.
It is noted that the couple were previously in the news several times for their marital issues, to the extent of netizens speculating that their marriage will not endure.
