Six years after he embarked on his world tour, Jay Chou announced that his Carnival World Tour has now concluded.

Sharing the news on social media with photos from the final show in Shanghai, the singer-songwriter expressed, “I want to thank you for singing through hundreds of shows with me over these past few years. There’s a sense of reluctance, maybe a bit of sadness too, but more than anything, there’s the anticipation of our next reunion.”

Jay admitted that there were moments beyond his control throughout his tour, from having panic attacks before going on stage, or performing while not having his voice in the best condition.

“Amidst all that pressure, I often thought about how some of you had waited years for just one concert. I know how precious that kind of anticipation is. That’s exactly why, whenever the thought of cancelling crossed my mind, I held on and pushed through,” he expressed.

Jay said that he isn’t sure whether he will be able to sing in the original key for his next tour, but that he will return to the stage to continue to create memories with fans.

Jay started his “Carnival World Tour”, his eighth tour overall back in October 2019 in Shanghai, spanning 110 dates around Asia, Oceania and Europe. However, the tour had to be halted temporarily in 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic, and only resumed in Singapore in December 2022.

The tour concluded at the Shanghai Stadium on 11 October.
