It was reported that Ryoko Yonekura has been embroiled in drug allegations.
The news was revealed by Weekly Bunchun, stating that the Narcotics Control Division has launched an operation back on 20 August to search for evidence at Ryoko’s residence in Tokyo. During the process, they reportedly found a variety of drugs and paraphernalia.
It was also reported that various Japanese media outlets have already known about the investigation into Ryoko, but remained silent as the bureau had yet to release details or file charges.
It is noted that the actress has stopped updating her social media since 19 August. She had also cancelled several work activities, including the Clarino Beautiful Legs Awards event on 6 October, citing health issues.
Ryoko had been embroiled in drug controversies in the past. In 2000, she was accused of dating a married man outside the entertainment industry, who was arrested for doping, leading to a police search and drug test. She was ultimately cleared of the charges, but her acting career suffered a setback.
