If there is one character that Charmaine Sheh loved playing the most, it was Princess Chiu Yeung from the 2010 TVB drama, “Can’t Buy Me Love”.
In a recent interview, where the actress spoke about her past roles, Charmaine said that she actually liked every character that she has played, otherwise she wouldn’t have taken the role at all.
However, if she was to pick one that she loves the most, it would be the aforementioned character.
“Firstly, because she’s a princess. She’s bold, spoiled, wilful, beautiful and loved by so many. In real life, I can’t act that way. I’m what you’d call secretly spoiled, but she was openly spoiled. I wish I could live like her,” she said.
Charmaine added, “In the end, she even found a prince who truly loved her. It was so perfect.”
She also spoke about her most challenging role, which is playing a judge in “Themis”. However, it is not just because of the complexity of the role.
“The drama was filmed before ‘The Queen of News 2’. At the time, I was mentally prepared to immerse myself in my role as Man Wai Sam. But then this amazing script came along and I had to adjust myself quickly,” she said.
Charmaine said that she had to remove Man Wai Sam, her popular character from “The Queen of News” from her mind in order to do “Themis”.
“There couldn’t even be a shadow of her in the new role,” she added.
