It was reported that Sandy Wu’s cafe AMBI-CAFÉ in Taipei’s East District was recently attacked during business hours.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the incident happened on 27 March, after two men clad in black came into the joint and proceeded to smash tables and chairs using bats, frightening customers in the premise.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the attack.

After receiving reports at about 3PM and reviewing the CCTV, the police arrested a 22-year-old and a 32-year-old surnamed Peng and Huang on 28 March.

Two men were seen on the CCTV following the attack

Police stated that the two originally stated that they have a dispute with Sandy’s father Jacky Wu and thought that he was the owner of the cafe. However, they later changed their statement and said that they were dissatisfied with Jacky’s hosting style.

The police noted, however, that the two men had shouted, “Jacky Wu owes money! Pay back!” when they entered the premise, and believe that there is another entity behind the attack.

Further investigation will be made to ascertain the motive of the crime.

It is noted that this is not the first time that the cafe was attacked by someone, as a similar incident occurred in 2018.
