Former SKE48 member Miki Yakata recently revealed that she had undergone surgery for an ovarian endometriosis cyst.
Sharing the news on 12 August on Instagram, the cancer survivor said that she underwent surgery following an examination after experiencing severe abdominal pain several months ago.
“The examination revealed a tumour measuring about 10 centimetres, and I recently underwent surgery for an ovarian endometriotic cyst. The pathology results showed that it was not malignant. The surgery was completed successfully, and I am now back to my normal life,” she posted.
She also reassured her followers about her recovery, saying, “They made four small incisions in my abdomen, but I’m fine now… I’ll take things at my own pace and live my life.”
Despite the previous condition, Miki said that she will continue working now that she is better.
“Thank you for your continued support!” she added.
The former SKE48 member was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 at the age of 25. She later underwent a total mastectomy of her left breast and lymph node removal.
