Song Weilong has emerged the winner of the Popularity Award at the recently held Global OTT Awards in Busan.
The actor beat strong contenders including Kim Seon-ho and Tseng Ching-hua to clinch the award with more than 7 million votes.
Song, who attended the awards ceremony, also received a lot of cheers from the crowd as he addressed everyone in Korean, saying, “I am Song Weilong, a Chinese actor, and I am really happy to receive this award.”
He then continued in Mandarin, thanking everyone for liking his starring role in the Chinese drama “Shine On Me” and for liking his character Lin Yusen from the drama.
In addition to Song, Tian Xiwei won similarly for her performance in “Pursuit of Jade,” and expressed, “I’m really happy to be here and receive this award. Thank you to the audience who like ‘Pursuit of Jade’ and Fan Changyu, and thank you to my fans. I hope I can bring you more and better works in the future. Thank you.”
