Did you know that kindness was what led Janine Chang to the entertainment industry?
The Taiwanese actress recently shared the story of how she ended up becoming an actress on the YouTube show, “Have a Seat, Let’s Talk,” admitting that her original life plan did not involve acting at all.
She recalled that during her university years, when she was studying law, she encountered a part-time worker distributing questionnaires while shopping in Taipei’s East District. Having experience with part-time work herself, she knew that many people would fill out forms carelessly or leave fake phone numbers, causing the part-time worker to be unable to complete their work and affecting their livelihood.
Janine said she decided to stop and help fill out the questionnaire, even leaving her real contact information. About six months later, the young man who had distributed the questionnaire became an assistant at an advertising agency and remembered her when his boss asked if there were any suitable new faces for signing.
He then called Janine using the phone number she gave him, inviting her to audition. It was this phone call that became a crucial turning point in Janine’s life. Starting with commercials and music videos, she gradually accumulated work and recognition, and eventually establishing herself in the drama industry with her acting skills.
