Bowie Wu is now officially a Guinness World Records holder for the oldest Chinese artiste to hold a concert.
The record was held at his Bowie Wu 95 Supreme Infinite Fun Concert, a nearly five-hour event that attracted an impressive lineup of celebrities and longtime friends from the entertainment industry.
Guests included Miriam Yeung, Pakho Chau, the BIG FOUR, Grasshopper, Gallen Lo, Nadia Chan, Liza Wang, Eason Chan, Nick Cheung, Karen Mok, Jacky Cheung and many others. Andy Lau also made a surprise appearance near the end of the concert, much to fans’ delight.
At 94 years and 140 days old, Bowie officially earned the Guinness World Record title, with Guinness World Records representatives appearing onstage to present him with an official certificate during the show’s finale.
Throughout the evening, many performers paid tribute to Bowie not only for his legendary career, from Miriam Yeung performing a duet of “Wish You Treat Me Well,” with Bowie, to Eason Chan appearing onstage dancing and singing “Old Love Like a Dream” alongside backup dancers.
Nick Cheung also held his hand while performing “Need You Every Minute,” while Jacky Cheung performed “Legend of Never Growing Old” specially for Bowie.
