It was announced that singer and actor Takuya Kimura will be moving from Victor Entertainment, where he had been for many years, to Avex, and will be establishing his own private label, C&C STAGE, within the company.
The 53-year-old singer shared the news on 3 May, saying that the name C&C comes from the fact that he refers to himself as “Captain” and his fans as “Crew”.
He explains, “While thinking about how I could try something new with my supportive Crew, I had the desire to create a ‘space’ that we could all enjoy together in 2026. In that process, we decided to launch this new label.”

He also hopes to build more connections with friends overseas, which fans interpret as a sign that he may hold concerts or fan meetings outside Japan.
“We are currently working on new material and preparing opportunities for you to meet us in person, so please look forward to it,” he added.
SMAP, the idol group to which Kimura belonged, was signed to Victor Entertainment since their debut in 1991. Even after the group disbanded, Kimura continued his contract with the company as a solo artiste, releasing three solo albums from “Go with the Flow” in 2020 to “SEE YOU THERE” in 2024.
