A year after he was promoted to CEO of Metro Radio, the broadcasting station issued a notice announcing that Steven Ma has resigned for personal reasons.
As reported on Mingpao, on 11 May, Metro Broadcast released a statement that read, “Metro Radio Limited (“Metro Radio”) announces that Mr. Steven Ma will resign as CEO for personal reasons, effective 20 May 2026. Metro Radio thanks Mr. Ma for his contributions during his tenure, bringing a fresh perspective to the station.”
At the same time, Metro Radio officially appointed Ms. Alice Kwok as Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief, effective 12 May 2026.
“Metro Radio once again expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Steven Ma for his contributions during his tenure and wishes him all the best in the future. In the future, the Metro Radio team will continue to provide listeners, viewers, and partners with the highest quality content and experience, and drive the business to new heights.”
Steven joined Metro Radio as Chief Operating Officer in January 2024 and was promoted to CEO last June.
Back in April, Steven revealed that he was taking a long vacation after 28 months of non-stop work.
