Cecilia Cheung recently opted for the nostalgia route for her birthday event with fans by turning into her character Lau Piu Piu from “The King of Comedy”.
According to a report by WenWeipo, the day before 24 May, which marked her 46th birthday, Cecilia held an early birthday fan meeting in Kunshan, celebrating together with fans from various places.
The event began in the afternoon, with Cecilia appearing in a white school uniform, recreating the beloved character from her 1999 Stephen Chow movie, drawing loud cheers from fans.

She expressed gratitude for their companionship over the past twenty-plus years, saying, “My life was given to me by my parents, and I am deeply grateful to them. At the same time, I am also very grateful to you all. The most precious gift in my life is that you have been with me every single second. This bond is very special, and I cherish it dearly.”
“Over the years, you have borne so many tears and grievances for me, and my courage has always been given to me by you. This year I am 46 years old, and only after turning 46 have I truly entered the most comfortable moment of my life. You are a part of my life, so I must spend my birthday with you this year. I know you have been looking forward to this day for a long time. Thank you for your companionship. Because of you, I can walk more steadily every step of the way. My birthday wish this year is that everyone is healthy and safe.”
Fans also prepared special surprises for her, including cosplay performances of her past characters and performances of classic songs. Cecilia recorded videos throughout the performances and sang together with them.
