Joker Xue’s camp has recently released a statement responding to the recent allegations made by Internet celebrity Li Yutong, who suddenly reappeared years after she first accused him of swindling her.
In a statement released on Weibo on 3 March, his management agency stated that the allegations made by Li were untrue and fabricated with the intent to incite dispute.
“These actions constitute malicious defamation of Mr. Xue, seriously infringing upon his legitimate rights and interests, severely misleading netizens, wasting public resources, and causing a negative impact,” the agency stated.
It also claimed that Li has repeatedly spread false rumours about the singer on various online platforms in recent years and has tried to contact him many times to no avail.
“Our company has preserved the relevant evidence and taken legal measures to pursue the legal responsibility of the relevant parties in order to protect Mr. Xue’s legitimate rights and interests,” it stressed, adding that netizens should not believe the rumours and to stop disseminating false information.
Li recently reappeared on Weibo to publicly called out the singer, demanding that he return her money. She also threatened to “tell the whole truth” about them and accused Joker of causing her to suffer from depression for 12 years.
