Jane Zhang has won the adoration of fans when she decided to come clean about the cause of her frozen facial expressions during a concert in Guangzhou.
The singer was performing at her show in the city on 21 March when fans noticed that her expression turned blank as soon as she stopped singing.
Seeing everyone’s confusion, Jane admitted, “I just had cosmetic injections, and I overdid it with my face. I can’t smile very well now. Things I don’t do often are more likely to go wrong.”
Apologising lightheartedly for the situation and calling herself the “non-smiling woman”, Jane added that everyone should remember that her inability to smile wasn’t because she was “unhappy.”
“I wore heavier makeup today to cover up the stiffness from the recovery period. It’s okay, it’ll be fine in about two or three weeks, don’t worry,” she said.
Her honesty with the situation had fans praising the singer, with many saying that she was being clever about the situation and in diffusing speculations about her face on social media.
