Jasmine Yen may be his only daughter, but it doesn’t mean Donnie Yen will just hire her to write a song for his new “John Wick” spinoff movie.

The actor, who attended the 2026 BMW Hong Kong Derby recently, stated that he wants to be fair when it comes to his own work.

“Just because she’s my daughter doesn’t mean she can do that. She has to rely on her own hard work and talent. Gold will shine,” he said.

Donnie said that even Jasmine has her own plans and needs time to develop them, so there is no rush for her to make frequent public appearances.

He revealed that his daughter is continuing to write songs, and there will be good news to announce later.

As for son James, Donnie said that his youngest is also currently studying music instead of martial arts like himself.

“I don’t pressure my children; I hope they have their own interests and talents to develop,” he said.
