With the Year of the Horse arriving, Nancy Wu decided to surprise many by announcing that she is leaving TVB.
Sharing a photo of herself working out at the gym on 4 February, the actress posted, “Today is the Beginning of Spring, the start of a New Year. 2026, a new beginning, a good start! Let’s continue to forge ahead in our work with courage!!”
“In the new year, I’ve decided to leave my comfort zone and explore the world, hoping for more new experiences, new creations, and new sparks,” she added.
Nancy also thanked the managers and colleagues at TVB and Shaw Brothers for their support and care over the past few years, adding, “Even though the way we work has changed, their support remains the same.”
“Wishing everyone good health, peace, and happiness! May everyone have work, and may the economy recover soon! May all industries prosper!” she expressed.
The actress made her debut in the early 2000s through small roles in dramas like “Point of No Return” and “The W Files”. Her first major role was in 2014’s “Overachievers”.
It didn’t take Nancy long to win Best Actress for her performance in “Ghost of Relativity,” which she shared with Kristal Tin. She won again in 2016 for “A Fist Within Four Walls” the year after. However, Nancy started to slow down her involvement in dramas soon after.
