Na Ying recently took to social media to express her sadness over the loss of music producer John Yuan Wei-jen.
On 2 February, the songstress posted on Weibo, “Thank you for bringing so much wonderful music. In another world, you must continue playing the guitar and singing songs. Xiao Pang, rest in peace.”
It is noted that Yuan had collaborated with Na Ying many times in the past, including the songs “Conquer,” “Wakening,” and “Just Like a Dream”. It was his profound song-making that shaped Na Ying’s style of music.
“Conquer” not only earned Na Ying her first nomination for Best Female Vocalist at the Golden Melody Awards, but the song is very much still being performed and sung today.
Meanwhile, other celebrities have also taken to social media to mourn Yuan, including Joker Xue, who posted, “The precision of your lyrics and melodies, the vivid imagery, the deep sense of sorrow. I’ve learned so many things quietly from you.”
“I think today, on the way home, everyone will be playing your songs. Let this be our farewell,” he added.
