Kelly Yu recently assured she is doing well following a fainting episode during a commercial performance in Guizhou.
In a statement released on Weibo on 2 February, she wrote, “I’m very sorry that my personal health condition affected my performance on stage last night. Thank you for everyone’s concern and kindness. The on-site rescue staff and medical personnel were very professional and responsible; thank you to each and every one of them.”
“Please don’t blame the event organisers, my studio, or my staff. All the schedules and work were accepted with my knowledge; it was my own fault for not properly assessing my physical capabilities, and it has nothing to do with others.”
Back on 1 February, the Chinese-Canadian singer suddenly collapsed during an outdoor commercial performance in Anshun, Guizhou, and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
The hashtag “#KellyYuFaints” quickly became a trending topic, sparking concern and discussion among many fans and netizens.
Videos posted by audience members showed that after Kelly finished singing, she turned around, slowly squatted down, sat on the ground, and then collapsed.
The performance was temporarily interrupted after the incident, with singer Wu Kequn immediately going on stage to save the day and explained the situation to the audience.
