Nothing is changed in the sentencing of NCT member Taeil, who was originally sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
On 26 December, Presiding Justice Seo Kyung-hwan of the Supreme Court upheld the previous ruling that sentenced Taeil and his acquaintances, Mr. Lee and Mr. Hong, on charges of aggravated quasi-rape under the Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, dismissing their final appeal.
The three men have also been ordered to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment programme, and are barred for 5 years from employment at institutions involving children, teenagers, or people with disabilities.
It was in March that the 31-year-old singer, real name Moon Tae-il, was indicted along the two other men of sexually assaulting a foreign woman in Seoul in June last year. Prosecutors had originally sought a seven-year prison term for the singer.
Taeil has already been expelled from NCT by SM Entertainment due to the gravity of the matter.
