sooka, Malaysia’s leading streaming service, achieved recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for having the Most Participants in a Streaming Multitasking Challenge, after concluding the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge.
The event, where 273 participants gathered for a full day of entertainment and competitive challenges all while streaming sooka LIVE, also marked a major content milestone with the introduction of sooka Shorts, a new microdrama feature launching this December.
The record-breaking turnout reflected the core purpose of the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge, which was to celebrate Malaysians’ bold, enthusiastic and sometimes “gilerrr” passion for entertainment and sports.

This was the first time sooka hosted an event of this scale, and the overwhelming response demonstrated just how strongly the brand connects with its audiences.
Adding to the day’s momentum were sooka brand ambassadors Evertts Gomes, Aiman Ameer, Wani Kayrie and Kimberly Chuah, who spent time engaging with fans. The programme also featured performances by Dewi Remaja finalists, Jaguh Rakan Muda contestants, the Top 12 from Astro Star Quest, cast members from Astro Originals and sooka Shorts, as well as artistes including Uriah See, ALPHA, Qasrina Karim, Mierul Aiman and Khai Bahar.

While the audience was kept entertained, participants continued their streams as they moved through a series of physical challenges designed to test their focus and stamina.
The challenge wrapped up with the prize presentation, where the grand prize winner walked away with a Proton e.MAS 5. Other top performers who completed every stage of the challenge also received rewards, including a Samsung 85-inch QLED Smart TV, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a MacBook Air, a Samsung gaming monitor, a PlayStation 5 Pro, a DJI Pocket 3 Creator Combo, a Dyson hair dryer, Sony headphone and a JD gift card worth RM1,000.
At the event, sooka introduced an early look to sooka Shorts, its new microdrama feature, designed for viewers who want quick, captivating stories that fit perfectly into shorter viewing windows. With short-form dramas gaining popularity worldwide, this format positions sooka as Malaysia’s homegrown leader in the microdrama space, expanding its content offering and giving audiences more flexibility in how they enjoy entertainment.

As part of the early preview, viewers will be able to watch titles such as “Mandrem”, “Gadis Dihina Pemilik Empayar”, “Mak Kau CEO Aku”, and “Raja Fitnah”, beginning 12 December 2025.
In the coming months, the line-up will be strengthened through further collaborations with regional production studios to produce original Chinese titles, alongside additional Korean microdrama content. Selected episodes will be available for free, while full access will be offered to customers on the Entertainment plan and above, allowing a wide range of viewers to explore the new format once it launches.
Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (for mobile app) and on all major Smart TV platforms. sooka Shorts can be easily accessed directly from the Home page.
