Actor Lee Yi-kyung’s camp recently announced that they are filing a lawsuit against the person who spread false information about his private life.
Sangyong ENT released a statement on 3 November, stating that they deeply regretted the false information and defamation regarding the actor that has spread online.
“Through our legal representative, we have completed filing a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against the authors and distributors of the relevant posts on charges of spreading false information and defamation,” the statement added.
They continued, “We would like to make it clear that there has been no attempt at agreement or compensation discussion regarding this matter, and that there will be no such attempt in the future.”
“We will continue to monitor and respond legally without leniency to acts such as writing malicious posts that defame the character and reputation of our actors.”
It was back in October that an online user claiming to be a German woman released a post supposedly exposing “the real Lee Yi-kyung” and included alleged KakaoTalk and Instagram messages between them. The user accused Lee of using abusive and explicit language and asked for intimate photos.
However, she later deleted the post and claimed that she had fabricated everything using AI and that it was all started as a joke that went overboard.
