Hong Kong singer JW (Joey Wong) surprised many recently, after announcing that she has now become an independent artiste.
The singer, who has been with TVB Music Group since 2020, shared the news recently following her performance at the Spooky Halloween event organised by Live Nation Electronic Asia, saying, “It’s really been a whole year since I last sang at a public event in Hong Kong! This time, I finally got to stand on stage and sing for everyone as an independent artiste for the very first time! And I even got to perform with a full band and strings!”
Saying that she misses all the fans, JW also promised that there will be new songs in 2026.
It is noted that TVB’s official website still retains the singer’s artist profile, which caused a little confusion among fans as to whether JW had left the company.
The singer herself has not explicitly responded as to whether she had ended her contract with TVB or TVB Music Group.
