It was announced that the five-member girl group ILLIT will be performing the theme song for the second season of the TV anime “‘Tis Time for Torture, Princess”.
In a statement released to the media, the group expressed, “We are very honoured to be performing the opening theme for a TV anime that is loved by so many people in Japan. We are really looking forward to seeing what kind of reaction will occur.”
They also expressed their hope that fans will not only love the animation but also ILLIT as a group.
The animated series is based on the popular manga series written by Robinson Haruhara and illustrated by Hirakei. It revolves around a princess who is held hostage and ‘tortured’ usually in the form of tempting foods and snacks from Japanese culture.
This is not the first time that ILLIT’s music has been featured in Japan. Their song “Topping” was used in a video advertisement for Lacoste Japan.
The group is set to make their Korean comeback with their first single album, “NOT CUTE ANYMORE,” on 24 November.
