Chen Duling’s camp has recently slammed a strange and absurd rumour that said that the actress was “not real”.
The whole issue sparked after an online user created a series of videos on Bilibili, claiming that Chen is an impostor and a fake person who had been “replaced”. It was alleged that the real Chen might have been killed or imprisoned, and that the person who has been seen in public is just a body double.
It had since sparked a lot of speculations among netizens, with theories going around about people using clones and human masks to pretend to be her. Some netizens even started to compare old videos of Chen with her recent birthday livestream, saying that the recent Chen Duling has different hand and neck sizes than the old one.

In response, her studio’s legal team, King & Capital released a statement denying this, writing that such accusations were false and absurd.
“These maliciously fabricated rumours continue to ferment online, have been clicked, viewed, and spread in large quantities, seriously misleading the public. This has not only damaged the client’s public image, leading to an unwarranted reduction in her social evaluation, but also caused great harm and distress to the client’s personal reputation, constituting a serious infringement on the client’s right of reputation and other personality rights,” they added.
