After promising that they will donate their prize money to the Hualien disaster relief, Dee Hsu and Patrick Liu did just that recently.
On 25 October, Patrick, who won Best Variety Show Host at the Golden Bell Awards alongside Dee for “Dee Girls Talk”, shared a screenshot that showed his donation record on social media. He posted, “I promised at the Golden Bell Awards that I would donate all my prize money to Hualien. It’s been raining these past few days, so everyone stay safe and keep going.”
Soon after, Dee’s manager confirmed that the TV personality would also donate to the same organisation.
It was reported that Dee and Patrick won NTD 100,000 prize money for their win, which they divided 50-50 between themselves.
During his speech at the Golden Bell, Patrick expressed, “11 years ago, I was an amateur guest on a programme. The host asked everyone: What is your future dream? I said, ‘I want to be a very good host.’ But 11 years later, I co-hosted a programme with the host who asked me this question, and we won the Golden Bell Award together! Thank you, Sister S! Thank you for believing in me and appreciating me completely! I have such a good sister who loves and cares about me, and I will protect such a kind sister all my life.”
