Meng Ziyi’s camp recently released a statement promising to better secure the actress’ safety, following a netizen’s post about breaching into her trailer.
The issue sparked after a female netizen shared several photos of Ziyi’s dog Chocolate on social media, revealing that she managed to enter the actress’ trailer while visiting a filming set in May this year.
When asked how she was able to do so, she responded, “My friend knows someone in the crew.”
This issue sparked backlash among fans, not only towards the netizen for violating the actress’ privacy, but to the production team and her own management for the serious security breach.
In response, her agent released a statement on 30 July, saying, “Protecting Ziyi’s safety and privacy is always the team’s top priority. Going forward, we will continue to upgrade preventative measures, remain vigilant, and resolutely safeguard Ziyi’s safety. I’m sorry for causing disappointment and worry to everyone, and I sincerely apologise again.”
