TVB has recently dismissed rumours saying that the production of their new drama, “The Radiant City” (working title) has been halted.

As reported on Mingpao, it was previously alleged that the large-scale drama, which stars Julian Cheung and Ron Ng, was mired with issues.

Firstly, the drama was reportedly scheduled to be launched in Macau in June, but was abruptly cancelled. Instead filming began in Zhuhai at the end of last month.

However, another report suggested that issues with the script caused production to halt, and some cast members have returned to Hong Kong to await further arrangements.

It was also alleged that Julian has other work commitments and that the halt could lead to more filming delays or that the role may need to be recast.

In response to the rumour, TVB released a statement, saying that it was nothing but unfounded speculation.

“Production on [the drama] has not been halted. Our original cast and crew remain fully committed, and all work is proceeding in an orderly manner. To further enhance production quality, we have made appropriate adjustments to the workflow to ensure the best possible presentation of the series,” it said.

TVB also added that the drama is scheduled to complete production within this year.
