Kankaku Pierrot has announced that they will disband after their tour “MY NAME IS”, which will be held in Tokyo and Osaka in October.
The news was announced by the band on social media recently, stating, “To all the fans who have supported and loved our music over the years, and to everyone involved in our journey, we express our deepest gratitude.”
“After much thought and numerous discussions, each of us seriously reflecting on our own paths forward, we have come to the conclusion not to go on a hiatus, but to disband the band entirely. We sincerely apologise for having to deliver this news in this manner,” they added.
Thanking all the fans who have been with them throughout the years, the band said that they will be performing wholeheartedly until the very end.
According to a statement from their agency, JIJI Inc., “Each member seriously considered their own future and after many discussions, we have come to the decision to disband rather than take a hiatus.”
In addition, their final single, “I Wish to See You Again,” will be released digitally on 7 August.
