AXEAN Festival is back in Bali, and this year’s edition promises to be bigger, bolder, and more collaborative than ever.
Southeast Asia’s first intra-regional music showcase returns to Jimbaran Hub on 13-14 September 2025, bringing together over 40 artists from across the region and beyond for two days of music, innovation, and creative connection.
This year’s festival expands its vision as a true “celebration across borders,” transforming Bali into a melting pot where emerging talent meets established acts, where industry professionals forge new partnerships, and where Southeast Asia’s diverse musical landscape takes centre stage.
The festival’s music conference returns with curated panel discussions, business pitching sessions, and structured networking opportunities designed to spark meaningful collaborations. Meanwhile, the popular songwriting camp makes a comeback for its second year – a four-day creative retreat where artists, producers, and songwriters collaborate across cultures. Last year’s camp alone produced 20 original songs, proving the magic that happens when creative minds unite.
Making its debut this year is the SEA Club Showcase, a vibrant new platform celebrating the region’s explosive electronic and dance scene. From Indonesian “funkot’ or “dangdut” to Vietnamese “vinahouse”, Malaysian/Singaporean “manyao” to Filipino “budots”, the stage honours the grassroots genres that are reshaping global club culture with distinctly local flavour.
“AXEAN Festival has always been a labor of love – driven by passion, run pro bono, and built with bootstrapped resources,” says co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee. “The positive impact we’ve made is a testament to that dedication.”
Co-founder David Siow adds, “We really just want the artists to succeed, and we do all we can to make that happen. People sense authenticity and intent, and that’s what allows the music industry to trust us.”
