It looks like rumours of Ronald Cheng and Sammie Yu’s divorce might be true, as the two were recently spotted going to a family court.
On 15 April, Ronald and Sammie were seen appearing separately at the Wan Chai Family Court to participate in a closed-door trial.
The singer seemed surprised when approached by TVB Entertainment News’ reporter who asked him about the divorce, saying, “How did you know? This is a closed court. How did you know? How did you get the news. So sharp. Thank you for your concern.”
The two were later seen leaving the court separately.
Rumours of their marital breakdown sparked back in February, when Sammie posted a photo of her and her children blowing out candles on her birthday cake on Instagram Story and wrote, “Happy birthday to me. Starting a new chapter.”
Prior to that, Ronald announced that he has suspended work to undergo rehab in the US due to his issues with depression and alcoholism.
The singer was once married to Charlene Choi for four years before the marriage ended in 2010. He then married Cable TV HK’s host, Sammie Yu in July 2011.
