Liu Yichang recently found himself having to apologise to Hong Yao after he accused the actor of asking another woman out for a date despite being married to actress Wu Jinyan.
The whole issue sparked recently, after Liu posted on Weibo, “Mr. Hong, you should be honest now that you are married. Don’t date random people” without any context.
As the post became viral, with many speculating that Hong is cheating on his wife with Liu’s girlfriend Li Muchen, producer Yu Zheng came to Hong’s defence, saying that Hong spent most of his time working out, doing extreme sports, practicing lines and taking acting classes when he is not working.
Li Muchen had also since addressed the issue, saying that it was just a misunderstanding.
“After the recording of a variety show on the evening of 31 March, around 2 am, Mr. Hong Yao sent me a message asking if I wanted to get together for Mr. Zhang Danfeng’s birthday, and he told me that there were other people at the scene, so I went. In fact, in addition to us, there were indeed dozens of other artistes present that night.”
Li said that her boyfriend Liu was not aware of the actual situation and had since deleted the Weibo post after being told what actually happened. However, the damage was already done.
Soon after, Liu took to social media again, writing, “I’m sorry, brother. I went crazy. I didn’t understand it clearly before I went crazy.”
He also admitted to be an impulsive person and added that he would try and control his temper in the future. Hong later reposted the apology and reminded everybody to be rational and not let rumours hurt innocent people.
