Despite previously denying allegations of affairs with US tycoon Ye Yanwei, rumours continue to swirl that Zheng Shuang is now pregnant with the tycoon’s baby.
This was further fuelled by an admission by a man who is allegedly Ye’s son, who after being asked about the rumour, said that his father has lots of mistresses including the actress, and that she is now pregnant with his baby.
Meanwhile, some netizens alleged that they had seen Zheng Shuang in the US with a baby bump.
It is noted that Zheng Shuang has already dismissed the rumour back in February, saying that it was baseless and malicious.
“[She] has always upheld her integrity and strict life principles. We solemnly deny and refute such rumours. This false information has seriously damaged [her] reputation and misled the public,” her camp responded.
Following the latest rumour, the actress took to Weibo yet again on 12 March, writing a long post and saying, “In order to avoid occupying public resources, no excessive response will be made. But we must solemnly warn everyone: if you want to know the facts, the real information released by “her” is the only credible basis!”
“Please keep your eyes open and firmly follow the information released by “her” herself. Don’t be led by these rumours and become a mouthpiece for false information!” she added.
The post also came with two photos of Zheng, albeit heavily filtered and not showing her full figure.
However, the response did not bring satisfaction to netizens, with many saying it was just a jumble of words that do not make sense.
One posted, “If you want to refute a rumour, just refute it properly. If you want to post a photo, just post it properly. Don’t say a bunch of useless things and don’t use a lot of beauty filters.”
