Zhang Linghe recently revealed that he actually studied Chinese medicine for the sake of his new drama, “The Best Thing”.
The actor, who plays the role of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner in the new drama, told the media that he actually took a classes on traditional medicine for a month to prepare for his role.
“It’s just the basic,” he said with a smile. “I learned a little bit of acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, and pulse diagnosis, but I still don’t dare to try acupuncture on myself.”
Zhang, who is known for his period and fantasy dramas, said that the reason he decided to say yes to the series was due to the fact that it is a modern drama.
“I had been shooting costume dramas in Hengdian for a long time at the time, and I really wanted to try a modern drama. The script to me was very fresh and healing, and the role of He Suye is also very charming,” he said.
And it looks like his one-month study did not go to waste, as actress Jolin Jin recently revealed that the actor was able to find out that she was pregnant while filming a variety show together.
Said the actress, she playfully asked Zhang to feel her pulse after finding out that he has been studying Chinese medicine. Zhang, without knowing that Jolin was actually pregnant and had not told anyone about it, asked her if she was with a baby.
“I told him to feel my pulse just to test how good he was. I didn’t expect him to find out that I was pregnant,” she said.
