Khalil Fong’s camp has recently released a statement denying all of the rumours surrounding news of his passing.

It was reported that rumours have been swirling on Weibo regarding the nature of the singer’s death, with some alleging that Khalil was diagnosed with severe pulmonary fibrosis.

In response to the rumours, Khalil’s representative stated that the online articles are nonsense and were written just to get clicks.

“Stop spreading misinformation online just for traffic. Truth is the foundation of everything. There are more people and things that deserve our attention. May the deceased rest in peace. I implore the media to give his relatives and friends peace of mind and space to accept the facts that cannot be changed.”

“Let us use Khalil’s favourite music and graphic novels to remember him, the eternal inspiration and dreamer,” the rep added.

As to whether there will be a memorial concert in the future, his rep said that no such event will be held.

“I hope his music will always exist in everyone’s hearts. Thank you again to all the media and friends for your concern,” he added.

It was late last week that Khalil’s camp announced that the singer has passed away on 21 February, with the cremation held on 1 March in Yunnan.

He was 41.
