It was reported that former SNH48 member Lv XiangYi has received a prison sentence for illegally operating a casino.
As reported on Sohu, according to the People’s Court of Shanghai, the singer was sentenced to ten months in prison for opening a casino, suspended for one year, and fined RMB 10,000.
The People’s Procuratorate of Changning District alleged that since June 2024, Lv rented a shop in Changning and recruited gamblers to play Texas Hold’em at the said location and charged gamblers table fees, which is considered illegal.
She was arrested by the public security agency in August, and confessed to the wrongdoing, which enabled her to get a lighter sentence.
Lv joined SNH48 as a trainee in 2022, and subsequently became the support member of Team X. She was promoted in March 2023. The singer went on hiatus in May 2024 following an announcement in March the same year.
