Umika Kawashima recently announced that she is now married to Olympic swimmer, Katsumi Nakamura.
Sharing the good news on 23 December with a couple of prenuptial photos, the former member of 9nine wrote, “Thank you for your continued support, I have an update. It’s personal, but I, Umika Kawashima and Katsumi Nakamura have entered into [marriage].”
“I’m attracted to his kindness and his strength to push straight toward his goals. I admire him very much. I’m still an underdog and still have a lot of things I can’t achieve, but I want to continue to work hard with him by my side.”
Thanking all her fans for their continuous support, she also wished everybody a happy Christmas.
Katsumi is an Olympic swimmer who competed in the men’s 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also qualified to represent Japan at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
