It looks like SHINee’s Onew will not be coming to Malaysia after all.

The news was revealed by event management company Faith & D Entertainment on 17 July, saying that the said “GUESS!” fan meeting to be held at the KLCC Plenary Hall scheduled for 27 July has been cancelled.

“The decision is made after careful consideration. We want to provide the best fan meeting experience for Onew and fans, but the local promoter is unable to resolve their internal issues,” the company stated.

Meanwhile, MND Sports and Event released their own statement, saying, “It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the “ONEW FANMEETING 2024 IN MALAYSIA” that was scheduled to be held at KLCC Plenary Hall. We understand the disappointment this news brings to Onew’s dedicated fans, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

“Due to unforeseen internal circumstances, we are unable to proceed with the event as planned. We assure you that this decision was made after thorough consideration, and we appreciate your understanding and support during this time.”

They revealed that the refund process will start from 1 August, with the full refund to be received by ticket holders by 5 December 2024.

Fans were not happy with the news, seeing that it came 10 days before the event itself.

One fan posted, “How can the show cancel last minute? Do you know how many fans already planned everything? All the transportation and hotel booking cannot be refunded in the last minute!”

Last month, the company changed the location of the fan meeting from the Malawati Indoor Stadium to KLCC Plenary Hall.
