Britney Spears has denied rumours saying that she is set to return to the music industry with a new single.
On 4 January, amid rumours that she may be working with singer Charli XCX and writer Julia Michaels for a new record, the former pop princess wrote on Instagram, “Just so we’re clear, most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry!!!”
Britney stated that she usually writes songs for fun or for other people, and that she has written over 20 songs for other singers for the past two years.
“I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way!!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days??? I’m so LOVED and blessed!!!” she added.
It is noted that Britney ‘s last new music was released last year, when she collaborated with will.i.am on “Mind Your Business”.
