Andy Lau is set to be honoured this year at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The news was announced by the organiser via social media, revealing that the Hong Kong superstar has been chosen to be the recipient of the Special Tribute Award.
“An industry icon and multi-faceted artist with an impressive filmography, Lau has paved the way for a generation of performers,” said Cameron Bailey, CEO of the festival.
Andy will be receiving the Special Tribute Award at the World Premiere Gala presentation of Ning Hao’s “The Movie Emperor”. Past recipients of the Special Tribute Award include Dionne Warwick and David Foster.
The Toronto International Film Festival will run from 7 to 17 September.
