After having been gone for two years from the limelight, it was revealed that Nick Cheung is back with a new directorial effort.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor-turned-filmmaker has been working on a script and had since applied for the Film Production Financing Scheme from the Hong Kong Film Development Council to finance the new project.

Reportedly, the new movie will be titled “The Shadow of Redemption”, and will have Nick also starring as the lead alongside Terrance Lau of “Anita” fame.

The film is also produced by Nick’s manager Claudie Chung, and will begin production in May.

No further information has been released for now.

This will be Nick’s fourth directorial effort following “Hungry Ghost Ritual”, “Keeper of Darkness”, and “The Trough”. The actor reportedly took some time off work in 2019 to spend more time with his family.
