Now that she is slowly regaining her freedom back from the conservatorship, Britney Spears announced that she is engaged to be married to boyfriend Sam Asghari.
The pop star shared the good news on social media with a video of her showing off her engagement ring with her fiancé next to her, as Sam could be heard asking, “Look at that. Do you like it?” and Britney exclaiming, “Yes!”
“I can’t [expletive] believe it!” the singer captioned the video.
Fans and friends alike took to the comments to congratulate the singer, including actress Selma Blair, who posted, “This is the most wonderful news. Of course. You are glowing and your fiancée did a beautiful ring. Congratulations!” and Paris Hilton writing, “Congratulations love! So happy for you! Welcome to the club.”
Sam also posted a photo to announce the good news on his Instagram account, with Britney showing off her ring finger to the camera as they kissed.
Britney and Sam met in 2016 after the actor co-starred in her music video for her single, “Slumber Party”.
The announcement came days after the singer’s father Jamie Spears filed a petition to end the conservatorship of her estate that he has served since 2009.
