Noontime live show, “It’s Showtime” recently announced that it will suspend its live staging temporarily due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
The news was shared by ABS-CBN via a statement released on social media that read, “To ensure the safety of our hosts and production team because of the surging COVID-19 cases in the country, ABS-CBN is suspending temporarily the live staging of “It’s Showtime.”
“Thank you for your support and understanding,” the statement added.

It is noted that the network made a similar move in the same month a year ago when the Philippines first announced its lockdown around the Metro Manila area following the pandemic, before returning to its usual live broadcast in June.
Philippine’s Department of Health recently announced that there were 7,999 new cases on Saturday, 20 March, making it the highest one-day count since the pandemic began.
