With his sequel to “Coming to America” already released on Amazon, fans are now interested to know if there will indeed be another instalment of another one of Eddie Murphy’s movie franchise, “Beverly Hills Cop”.
The comedy actor, who was recently asked about the fourth movie by DESUS & MERO on Showtime, admitted that the studio has been trying to make another “Beverly Hills Cop” film for the past 15 years.
“Right now, Netflix has it, and they’re trying to develop a script. That’s what we’re supposed to be doing next. But, I’m not doing nothing until the script is right,” he said.
Murphy also revealed that he was 22 when he played the role of Axel Foley in the first film, saying that he didn’t really cherish the experience when it happened.

“I didn’t feel any pressure. When you’re young, you kind of take everything for granted. So, that’s all I knew. You know? Stuff started happening fast for me, so I didn’t even think about it. Now, when I look back, I’m like, wow, I was really young!” he said.
Talks about the fourth movie started as early as after the release of the third instalment in 1994, though it fizzled out due to the poor reception to “Beverly Hills Cop III”.
It is noted that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who previously helmed “Bad Boys For Life” for Netflix, will be directing the project.
Said Arbi, “We’re still involved in that project, and there’s a screenwriter now on it that’s going to try to write a first draft, or a first treatment at least with the story.”
